Become a Tutor
Apply to become a freelance music teacher with Sunflower Violin Music Tuition. Music students specializing in violin, piano and music theory are welcome to apply. You must be over age 18 to apply.

We are regularly looking for experienced, friendly and professional music tutors who enjoy teaching children, to join our team to provide music tuition at the student’s house, mainly, but not exclusively, in Ealing and Acton in West London. Please mention when applying the areas to which you are able to travel to teach.
Subjects include Violin, Piano and Music Theory. We are also looking for music tutors who are fluent in, or can speak reasonable, Japanese to be able to teach any of the above instruments and theory, in Japanese.
All applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK, and have an up to date DBS check.
When you apply, if you are a student, please mention the course and the name of the college where you are studying. Please note that the permitted working hours differ depending on the type of visa you hold. Sunflower Violin Music Tuition hires freelance tutors as independent contractors. You will be working as self-employed and therefore you will be fully responsible for your PAYE, (income tax) and National Insurance. (Please note you are not hired as an employee). Sunflower Violin Music Tuition will not be liable for, or responsible for any tutor’s PAYE, income tax, National Insurance or any other insurance you deem necessary.
Once you have been accepted as a freelance, self-employed tutor, you will be fully responsible for all contact with your pupils and their parents or guardian. This includes arranging lessons, monitoring student’s progress and making any arrangements for student’s exams.
You will be fully responsible for any claims that may arise in a lesson. Sunflower Violin Music Tuition is exempt from any responsibility for, and is not liable for, any improper conduct on the part of a pupil, parent, guardian or tutor. Any damage to or theft of property or any other claims that may arise during the lessons are the responsibility of the tutor, parent/guardian and pupil to resolve. Sunflower Violin Music Tuition will not get involved in any such dispute that may arise.

1. CV and covering letter.
For Japanese applicants, you may send your CV in English or Japanese, but you must be able to teach in Japanese if you are offered work.
2. Copy of your Visa – you must have the right to live and to work in the UK. Please mention the type of visa you hold and how many hours per week you are able to work.
3. Copy of DBS check. If you do not hold a DBS check you will not be able to apply to become a tutor. Please obtain your DBS check before applying.
